His Purpose Prevails

Do you think God meant it for good? Well through the Bible there are many chapters and verses that show he meant it for good. The main two that stand out to me are James 1:17 and Genesis 1:31. In James 1:17 it states, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of light, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” This verse encourages believers to remember that God is the source of all good things in their lives, and he does not change when circumstances do. It also suggests that God provides the strength to overcome sin and follow his statutes, and that he promises blessings to those who do so. It is also important to remember in times of trail, God remains with us throughout hardship. We must rely on our faith that God is all-knowing and will guide our steps when we feel up against insurmountable odds. There are opportunities for us as Christians to grow in our faith when times are difficult. As we reflect on examples throughout the old and New Testament, perception of hardship is subject to the individual. For example, the hardship faced by Paul or Stephen are significantly different then our “hardship”. These men of faith were risking their lives for their lord. Both Paul and Stephen faced significant hardships due to their Christian faith, with Stephen being martyred by stoning and Paul enduring extensive persecution, including beatings, imprisonment, and threats to his life, primarily because of his zealous preaching of the Gospel to both Jews and Gentiles; notably, Paul was present at Stephen's stoning and even approved of it before his own conversion to Christianity. Always obeying in the Christ and walking with the word of God just how Stephen and Paul did will never lead you in the wrong. No matter the circumstance. In Romans 8:28, which states "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This reminds us that we should love God, and he will work in our favor.
